Our Mission
C. B. A. Potter County REACT is an all volunteer, not for profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing
public service and emergency communications to our community. We provide communications assistance during parades
and public service events in cooperation with local authorities. Other activities include assisting Red Cross,
Salvation Army or other agencies during local emergencies, and providing Traffic Management teams to schools and
churches during special events.
REACT Teams
REACT teams and members are protected under a General Liability Insurance Policy, covering most REACT activities.
This coverage applies only to those Team Members who are members of REACT International. The goal of REACT is to
develop a 24-hour monitor system on Channel 9, the official emergency channel . All members must comply with local,
state, and federal regulations, most particularly those covering radio service operations. Your primary function
is to respond to requests concerning traffic emergencies and motorist assistance and to pass the information along
to the proper authorities. MONITORING is therefore the most important function of the REACT program. We use a wide
array of communications equipment , we utilize CB, VHF, Amateur, and other radio services.
Our History
Since 1962, REACT has been the leader in public service radio. It has earned the U.S. Presidential Volunteer Action
Award. Look at our history!
On May 19, 1972 a group of citizen band operators met at the Villa Inn in Amarillo, Texas to establish plans for
a much needed Citizen band emergency organization to aid, assist and supply information and services to the citizens
of the Amarillo area. Citizens Band Aid was born. April 28, 1977 REACT International granted our team a charter.
With that C. B.A. Potter County REACT #3810 was started.
